According to Wuhan University, in order to be grateful and give back to his alma mater, since 1997, Lei Jun has successively donated and established Wuhan University's "Tengfei Scholarship", "Lei Jun Scholarship", "Lei Jun Science and Technology Building", "Fight against COVID-19 Fund" and other donation projects at his alma mater, with a total donation of 150 million yuan.
Lei Jun donated 10 million yuan to Wuhan University in 2012 to establish the Lei Jun Scholarship Project. From 2013 to 2022, 30 outstanding undergraduates, 10 master's students and 10 doctoral students from Wuhan University will be selected and rewarded every year, with a bonus of 20,000 yuan per person per year. Since its establishment, the Lei Jun Scholarship has awarded nearly 500 outstanding students.
